South Korea.- The casino resort group Shin Hwa World <\/strong>has indicated that its first-half net loss could fall by as much as 75 per cent year-on-year as revenue from its integrated resort business improves. The Jeju-based resort operator disclosed the outlook in a profit alert filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange<\/strong> on Monday covering the six months ended June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shin Hwa World recorded a consolidated net loss of HK$244.4m (US$31.2m) in the first half of 2025. A reduction of 60 per cent to 75 per cent would put the loss for H1 2026 at HK$97.8m (US$12.5m) to HK$61.1m (US$7.8m). Alongside higher revenue, Shin Hwa World cited an increase in the fair value of its investment properties and a tax recovery related to payments made in previous years as factors supporting the improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is also assessing a potential impairment loss on intangible assets. It said the projected reduction in its first-half loss already takes the possible impairment into account. Shin Hwa World cautioned that the assessment remains preliminary and has not been confirmed or reviewed by its independent auditor. The final figures may therefore change before the interim results are released, which the company expects to do in late August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group operates Jeju Shinhwa World<\/strong>, an integrated resort that houses a foreigner-only casino renamed LES A Casino<\/strong> in September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n
