Macau.- MGM China has completed the 15th edition of its annual The MGM Experience<\/strong> summer programme. It provided 200 local secondary school students <\/strong>with hands-on exposure to the hospitality industry while encouraging community engagement through volunteer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four sessions were held for students aged 13 to 17 from 35 schools in Macau, with support from the Macao SAR Government’s Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the Macao Catholic Schools Association and the Chinese Educators Association of Macau. The initiative included 50 children of MGM employees, who were assigned to the departments where their parents work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sessions covered practical experience across a range of hotel operations, including food and beverage, kitchens, front office, spa, facilities management, arts and culture, supply chain services and human resources. As part of the programme’s community service component introduced in 2022, students also joined volunteer activities with MGM’s Golden Lion Volunteer Team<\/strong>, including visits to elderly care centres, workshops and social enterprise initiatives supporting seniors and people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenneth Feng<\/strong>, MGM China CEO and executive director, said the company “will continue to provide diversified learning platforms for young people to discover their potential and become well-prepared talent with broad perspectives and strong social responsibility, contributing to Macau’s sustainable development”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
