That\u2019s a rise of 1.3 points year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rates for <strong>5-star<\/strong> (93.8 per cent) and <strong>4-star hotels<\/strong> (87.4 per cent) showed respective year-on-year growth of 1.4 and 4.3 percentage points, whereas the rate for <strong>3-star hotels<\/strong> (84.4 per cent) dropped by 1 percentage point. The number of guests at hotels was down by 1.1 per cent year-on-year to 7,127,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guests from the Chinese mainland (5,214,000) and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (857,000) both decreased by 2.5 per cent. Meanwhile, international guests (662,000) increased by 12.3 per cent year-on-year; among them, those from the Republic of Korea (191,000), Thailand (54,000), India (48,000) and the USA (34,000) rose by 13 per cent, 43.5 per cent, 16.1 per cent and 27.8 per cent respectively, while those from Japan (45,000) and Malaysia (42,000) fell by 5.6 per cent and 6 per cent respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first half of the year, the number of <strong>inbound package tour visitors<\/strong> totalled 845,000, down by 12.6 per cent year-on-year. Tour visitors from the Chinese mainland dropped by 16.7 per cent year-on-year to 681,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DSEC reported that in June 2026, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms of hotel establishments was 85.8 per cent, down by 2.6 percentage points year-on-year. The number of guests <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-hotel-occupancy-drops-in-june-macau-hotel-association-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">decreased by 8.6 per cent year-on-year<\/a> to 1,095,000, of which international guests (94,000) rose by 3 per cent. A total of 88,000 inbound package tour visitors were recorded in June, a fall of 14.2 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of visitor arrivals in Macau was down by 3.1 per cent year-on-year to 2,801,152\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-visitor-arrivals-up-9-in-first-half-of-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in June<\/a>. Same-day visitors (1,637,260) grew by 1.6 per cent while overnight visitors (1,163,892) decreased by 9 per cent.
