That’s a rise of 33 per cent month-on-month but 19 per cent below the level recorded last year.

The survey was conducted during visits to Macau casinos on Friday, July 25. That was ahead of the arrival of Typhoon Noul, which is likely to have reduced visitor numbers.

A total of 581 premium-mass players were observed across the city’s casinos, a 15 per cent decline from a year earlier. Average wagering per player was down 5 per cent year-on-year to HK$22,367 (US$2,839) from HK$23,536 (US$2,988).

The brokerage identified 24 players wagering HK$100,000 (US$12,693) or more, unchanged from June but down from 35 in July 2025. Average wagers among these players were up 9 per cent month-on-month to HK$182,500 (US$23,164) but 13 per cent lower than a year earlier.

The highest individual wager recorded during the survey was HK$600,000 (US$76,154) at Galaxy Macau’s Pavilion South. Two other notable wagers of HK$440,000 (US$55,846) and HK$360,000 (US$45,692) were observed at MGM Macau.

Galaxy Macau accounted for 43 per cent of all premium-mass wagers recorded during the survey, up from 35 per cent a year earlier. Citi analysts George Choi and Timothy Chau attributed part of the resort’s performance to its role in hosting activities linked to the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League Finals Macao 2026, held from July 22 to 26. They highlighted the tournament and related events, including autograph sessions with the Chinese national team, as an example of how non-gaming attractions can encourage visits from affluent customers and drive additional spending.

The survey found that average minimum bets at mass-market baccarat tables declined 10 per cent year-on-year to HK$1,898 (US$241). At the Londoner Casino, the average minimum baccarat bet was HK$2,851 (US$362), which Citi said reflected lower table limits and the recent opening of a high-limit gaming area at the Londoner Grand.

   See also:

See also: Macau VIP baccarat GGR falls 2.6% in Q2

Some 581 premium-mass players were observed across the city’s casinos, representing a 15 per cent decline from a year earlier.

Citigroup's July Macau table game survey indicates premium-mass wagers rose 33% MoM to HK$13bn, yet declined 19% YoY, with player numbers down 15% YoY.
