Thailand.- Thai police claim to have dismantled an alleged gambling operation at a hotel in Nonthaburi. They arrested four suspects and seized equipment, drugs and cash at an eight-storey hotel on Ngam Wong Wan Road on Saturday.

Police had received complaints that the property was being operated exclusively for Chinese customers. People said Thai visitors were turned away while Chinese nationals entered and left throughout the day.

Officers say they found more than 40 people at the hotel, most of them Chinese, Shan and Myanmar nationals. They seized more than 200 items, including baccarat and hi-lo gaming equipment, casino chips, playing cards, dice, ketamine, drug packaging materials, cash, bank records, ATM cards, mobile phones and CCTV footage.

Investigators believe the hotel had been rented and converted into a private venue serving Chinese clients. Accommodation was reportedly provided on the second to sixth floors, while the seventh and eighth floors were allegedly used for gambling, drug parties and prostitution.

Police said the hotel had previously been raided in 2023, when dozens of Thai and Chinese suspects were arrested over alleged illegal gambling before the property closed for renovations. The suspects and the seized evidence have been handed over to Rattanathibet Police Station.
