Macau.- VIP baccarat gross gaming revenue (GGR) in Macau fell 2.6 per cent year-on-year to MOP15.9bn (US$1.97bn) in the second quarter of 2026. That’s according to figures released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VIP baccarat accounted for 26 per cent of Macau\u2019s total gaming revenue during the quarter, down from 29.6 per cent in the January-March period and well below its 46.2 per cent share in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic. The Q2 figure represented an 18.8 per cent decline from the first quarter of 2026, when the segment generated MOP19.6bn (US$2.44bn). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall casino GGR for Q2 was MOP61.2bn (US$7.57bn), almost level from a year earlier but 7.3 per cent lower than the first quarter. Mass-market baccarat remained the industry\u2019s largest revenue source<\/strong>, generating MOP35.2bn (US$4.35bn). Although the total was down 3.8 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 1.2 per cent year-on-year, the segment’s share GGR increased to 57.5 per cent, up from 55.4 per cent in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the broader mass-market segment, including slot machines, GGR increased 0.8 per cent year-on-year to MOP45.1bn (US$5.59bn). Slot machine revenue climbed 17 per cent year-on-year to MOP4.11bn (US$509m). Revenue from live multi-game electronic products rose by 3.1 per cent to MOP1.30bn (US$161m). Analysts have previously cited lower hold rates and the FIFA World Cup<\/strong> as key factors behind the shift in GGR composition in June.<\/p>\n\n\n
