The Commercial Gambling Management Commission discussed updated inspection standards, casino employee licensing and internal regulatory reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Cambodia.- The Commercial Gambling Management Commission (CGMC)<\/strong> has reviewed the final draft of a casino quality inspection and assessment project designed to improve regulatory oversight<\/strong> and ensure that casinos comply with established operational standards. The meeting also looked at proposed changes to the CGMC’s internal working groups to better align the regulator’s structure with its current priorities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials also discussed measures to strengthen the administration of special casino employee licences. Under Cambodia’s Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling, certain gaming professionals, including dealers and pit supervisors, are classified as “special employees<\/strong>” and are subject to specific licensing requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulatory review comes shortly after CGMC Chairman Aun Pornmoniroth<\/strong> called on government agencies to carry out comprehensive inspections of casinos to verify their licensing status.<\/p>\n\n\n
