Hong Kong.- Emperor Entertainment Hotel has reported a 38.8 per cent decline in annual revenue to HK$512.2m (US$65.3m) for the year ended March 31, 2026. The Hong Kong-listed company attributed the decline to the cessation of gaming operations at the Grand Emperor Hotel in Macau on October 31, 2025, after its agreement with SJM Resorts was terminated under Macau’s phasing out of satellite casinos.

Gaming revenue fell from HK$505.6m (US$64.5m) to HK$179.4m (US$22.9m), with no gaming income recorded after the casino closed. However, Emperor reduced its net loss from HK$248.1m (US$31.6m) to HK$24.8m (US$3.2m) due to lower operating expenses and a smaller fair value loss on its investment properties. Following the satellite casino closure, employee numbers fell from 659 to 349 by the end of March 2026, while staff costs declined to HK$212.4m (US$27.1m) from HK$325.1m (US$41.5m).

Revenue from the group’s hotel and property leasing businesses remained stable at HK$332.8m (US$42.4m), compared with HK$331.4m (US$42.3m) in the previous year, accounting for 65 per cent of total revenue. The segment includes the Grand Emperor Hotel and Inn Hotel in Macau, as well as the Emperor Hotel and residential leasing properties in Hong Kong.

No final dividend was declared for the financial year. Looking ahead, the company said it will focus on developing new entertainment attractions at the Grand Emperor Hotel to diversify its revenue streams. The company said it remains optimistic about Macau’s tourism outlook.
