Macau.- The 13 Palace, the luxury hotel formerly named The 13 Hotel, is to begin phased trial operations on Saturday, June 27, following an extensive renovation and rebranding. The property, located in Seac Pai Van, Coloane, has undergone a year-long refurbishment after changing ownership in 2025.

According to local reports, management has completed final equipment testing and staff training ahead of the soft opening, which is intended to introduce the renewed hotel to the market before full operations begin later this summer.

During the initial phase, 50 to 60 suites will be available as part of an initial rollout of around 100 rooms. Management plans to gradually increase inventory by adding more than 10 rooms per week, with the full 199-suite property expected to be operational by the end of July. The hotel has reportedly seen encouraging booking interest ahead of the summer travel season, particularly from mainland Chinese visitors.

The hotel was originally intended to target Macau’s VIP gaming segment but struggled after opening in 2018 without a gaming licence and with incomplete facilities. The venue was sold for HK$600m (US$76.4m), with the new owner committing to investing between HK$200m and HK$300m (US$25m to US$38m) to upgrade of both interior and exterior elements. The website claims the hotel “blends modern architecture with European Baroque palatial aesthetics, showcasing its noble elegance.”
