Liquor & Gaming NSW is seeking feedback from industry and community stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia.- The New South Wales Government<\/strong> is preparing to review the regulatory framework for public lotteries. The state regulator, Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW), intends to open a public consultation on the Public Lotteries Regulation 2016, which is set to be repealed on September 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulation supports the operation of the Public Lotteries Act 1996 and establishes the rules and requirements governing lottery activities across New South Wales. The proposal is to retain most of the existing provisions with some minor amendments intended to remove outdated provisions and improve clarity, consistency and effectiveness. The state’s legislation requires a formal process of review, which includes consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPublic consultation is a key part of the process and the draft Public Lotteries Regulation 2026<\/strong> and Regulatory Impact Statement will be open for consultation until Friday, July 10,\u201d L&GNSW said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consultation will be conducted through the NSW Government\u2019s \u201cHave Your Say\u201d platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
