Japan.- Aichi Prefecture<\/strong> has announced an extension to its integrated resort (IR) bidding timeline for a planned casino development at Chubu Centrair International Airport Island<\/strong>, after prospective bidders requested additional preparation time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the revised schedule, the deadline for submission of participation letters has been moved to September 30 from July 31. The competitive dialogue phase has also been extended into next winter, while submission of final proposals is now scheduled for the winter period this year instead of autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prefecture originally launched the RFP<\/a> on April 1. Authorities said the process was designed to move from general consultation into structured bidding in line with Japan\u2019s national IR framework, which opened a second application window from May 6 to November 5, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as of June 17, no company had submitted a participation statement. Officials said several potential entrants requested extra time to complete feasibility studies and prepare detailed development plans before formally joining the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RFP process is structured in two stages, beginning with eligibility screening to confirm qualification requirements, followed by detailed proposal evaluation by an expert committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highest-ranked applicant will be selected as the primary candidate, with the second-ranked serving as an alternate.<\/p>\n\n\n
