The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR<\/a>) has announced it has started relief operations for the victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao<\/strong> recently, with some 10,500 food packs already on the way to affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alejandro H. Tengco<\/a>, PAGCOR CEO and chairman, said the agency\u2019s assistance will help affected families cope with the challenges brought about by the disaster. \u201cDuring times of calamity, we assure our kababayans that PAGCOR is always ready to provide help,\u201d Tengco said. \u201cWe hope and pray that affected individuals and families will soon be on their way to recovery and normalcy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relief food packs will be distributed in General Santos City; Mati City, Davao Oriental; the Office of Civil Defense in Region XII; and the 2nd District of Davao Oriental. A total of 3,000 food pails<\/strong> will be allocated each for General Santos City, Mati City, and the OCD \u2013 Region XII; while 1,500 food pails<\/strong> will be distributed in the 2nd District of Davao Oriental through the office of Rep. Cheeno Almario.<\/p>\n\n\n
