The Commercial Gambling Management Commission of Cambodia has revoked the casino licence of Roxy Casino in Bavet City, Svay Rieng province due to allegations of online scam involvement. The decision, effective June 9, was made after an inspection revealed that the operator had breached conditions governing casino operations. This action is part of a series of enforcement measures taken against casino operators in Cambodia, including the withdrawal of licences in Sihanoukville and other areas following raids that uncovered online scam operations within gaming premises.<\/p>\n
The Macau government collected US$5.27bn in casino taxes in the first five months of 2026, representing a 14.6% increase from the previous year. Gaming taxes accounted for 85% of government revenue during this period. Under the 10-year concessions, casinos pay 40% of Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) as taxes. The government’s fiscal budget plan estimates total gaming sector tax income to reach US$11.52bn for the year. In May, Macau’s GGR was US$2.8bn, with gaming tax revenue at US$948m, a decrease from April. Cumulatively, Macau’s GGR for the first five months of 2026 was US$13.44bn, showing a 10.9% increase year-on-year.<\/p>\n
Regulators in South Korea have taken action against 1,280 illegal sports betting websites ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) ordered the blocking of these sites to prevent public harm and capitalize on the increased interest in football. These unlicensed operators were offering bets on various sports, including markets not available through the country’s only licensed platform, Betman.
