Macau.- The Judiciary Police have conducted a prevention campaign targeting illegal football betting in Macau as the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches. From June 2 to 8, officers worked alongside youth volunteers to engage residents and distribute leaflets at bars, leisure areas, public spaces and residential areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities warned that criminal groups use social media and messaging apps to lure young people into illegal betting, using \u201cmatch predictions\u201d and quick-profit schemes as bait. Officials stressed that anyone involved risks financial loss and criminal liability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative also included a digital outreach component, with anti-gambling messages shared across online platforms. Police also distributed materials near educational institutions and held sessions with local associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
