International arrivals reached 10.6 million for the January to May period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Vietnam.- Some 10.6 million international visitors<\/strong> entered Vietnam during the first five months of 2026, the highest number on record for a January-May period. According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT)<\/strong>, there was sustained momentum across key source markets despite global economic and geopolitical uncertainties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The January to May figure represents 42 per cent of its 2026 goal<\/strong> of 25 million international visitors for 2026. International arrivals increased by 14.9 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>. In May alone, there were 1.78 million visitors, up 17 per cent compared to the same month in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first five months of 2026, Vietnam\u2019s top 10 source markets<\/strong> were China, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Cambodia, the United States, India, Japan, the Philippines, and Australia. China and South Korea remained the two largest markets, accounting for nearly 40 per cent of total international arrivals. Air travel remained the dominant mode of entry for international tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VNAT attributed the results to Vietnam\u2019s reputation as a safe and attractive destination, supported by favourable tourism policies and expanding international connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
