Hong Kong.- The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has inaugurated Pony World<\/strong>, an interactive equestrian attraction at Penfold Park<\/strong>. The initiative forms part of efforts to boost public interest in horses and promote equine sports development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility, which forms part of the Club\u2019s Year of the Horse campaign<\/strong>, was inaugurated on June 5 during a ceremony attended by government officials and senior HKJC representatives, including Vivian Sum, Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and HKJC Deputy Chairman Lester Huang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located within Penfold Park in Sha Tin, Pony World occupies more than 7,700 square metres and is designed to offer educational and recreational experiences for families, school groups and visitors. The attraction will open to the public on June 22. According to the Club, the new facility is expected to attact approximately 17,000 visitors annually<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovation project has already included landscaping, lighting, covered seating areas, new visitor amenities and a pet zone. A third phase of development is planned, which will strengthen connectivity with the nearby Sha Tin Racecourse<\/strong> grandstands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the launch, Huang highlighted Penfold Park\u2019s historical significance, noting that the venue was one of the locations used during the equestrian events of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
