The operator of Resorts World Sentosa has received a letter of censure from Singapore\u2019s gambling regulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Singapore.- The Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA)<\/strong> has issued a letter of censure to the operator of the Resorts World Sentosa<\/strong> casino resort, citing \u201cfailure to implement a specified internal control approved by the authority.\u201d The censure relates to Regulation 8(5)<\/strong> of the Casino Control (Internal Controls) Regulations 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GRA did not disclose the nature of the breach or the period in which it occurred.\u00a0No financial penalty has been issued. According to the regulator’s website, this is the only enforcement action it’s taken during the 2026 Financial Year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)<\/strong> announced the appointment of Daniel Tan Sin Heng<\/a> as the next chief executive of the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA). He will replace Teo Chun Ching from June 2. Currently Commander of the Traffic Police within the Singapore Police Force<\/strong>, he has held previous positions as Deputy Commissioner (Policy and Transformation) at the Singapore Prison Service, Director of Planning and Organisation at the Singapore Police Force, and Commander of Central Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointment follows Singapore\u2019s recent leadership changes at the Gambling Regulatory Authority, including the designation of former Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck as chairman<\/a>. Singapore\u2019s casino sector operates under a duopoly structure comprising Resorts World Sentosa<\/strong>, operated by a subsidiary of Genting Singapore<\/strong>, and Marina Bay Sands<\/strong>, run by a unit of Las Vegas Sands Corp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
