Greyhound Racing NSW confirmed that racing is expected to begin later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia. Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has provided an update on the multi-million-dollar redevelopment of the Lithgow Greyhound Club<\/strong>. It says the project remains on track ahead of its anticipated opening later in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to GRNSW acting CEO Brian Charman<\/strong>, construction of the new racetrack is now around 75 per cent complete, despite some early obstacles during the development phase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was launched in December 2025<\/a> by NSW Minister for Gaming and Racing David Harris alongside local and industry representatives. GRNSW said development approval has now been granted for new lighting infrastructure, a judge\u2019s tower and a machinery shed. The venue will also feature a new SafeChase rail<\/strong> and lure system, refurbished kennel blocks and upgraded public amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lighting upgrade will deliver broadcast-standard illumination averaging 900 lux, while the modular judge\u2019s tower will support stewards, race officials and broadcasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GRNSW also confirmed plans to rebuild the maintenance shed and improve the venue\u2019s main entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n
