That&#8217;s a 24.5 per cent increase compared with the same period last year,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figures showed that overnight visitors spent MOP17.25bn (US$2.14bn), up 12.2 per cent year-on-year, while spending by same-day visitors climbed by 69.2 per cent to MOP7.18bn (US$890.7m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Average non-gaming expenditure per visitor reached MOP2,179 (US$270) in the January-to-March period, increasing by 9.5 per cent from a year earlier. Overnight travellers spent an average of MOP4,101 (US$508) each, up 7.7 per cent, while same-day visitors spent an average of MOP1,025 (US$127), up 40.6 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shopping remained the largest spending category, accounting for 48.2 per cent of all visitor expenditure. Accommodation represented 21.1 per cent and food and beverage purchases 21 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among Macau\u2019s major visitor markets, mainland Chinese tourists were responsible for the highest average spend of MOP2,392 (US$297) per person, up 4.1 per cent year-on-year. Travellers from Taiwan spent an average of MOP2,004 (US$249), up 8.9 per cent, and visitors from Hong Kong MOP1,203 (US$149), up 37.4 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per-capita expenditure among overseas tourists rose 32.5 per cent year-on-year to MOP2,178 (US$270). Visitors from South Korea spent an average of MOP2,226 (US$276), up 35 per cent from Q1 2025, while Japanese travellers spent MOP2,093 (US$260), up 47.9 per cent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singaporean visitors&#8217; average spend was MOP3,697 (US$459), up 43.1 per cent year-on-year.
