The Bee Macau factory will manufacture Bee casino-grade playing cards entirely in Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Asia Pioneer Entertainment (APE) <\/strong>and Cartamundi Group <\/strong>have announced that Bee Macau<\/strong>, the first casino-grade playing card manufacturing facility in Macau, is now fully operational. The new operation, developed through the joint venture BEE Manufacturing and Technology Macau Company Limited, has already exported products to Asian markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press release from APE, the launch marks a “milestone for Macau\u2019s gaming industry,\u201d in the sense that it shifts the city\u2019s role from a consumer to a producer of gaming equipment. The company said the project aligns with \u201cMacau\u2019s broader economic diversification efforts and its ambition to strengthen non-gaming industries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bee Macau factory was developed with an investment of HK$500m (US$64.4m)<\/strong> and manufactures Bee casino-grade playing cards, a brand first introduced in 1892. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility is expected to supply Macau\u2019s six gaming concessionaires <\/strong>as well as international casino operators. APE said the plant is equipped with automation systems, robotics and artificial intelligence technologies while also relying on a workforce of local professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herman Ng<\/strong>, executive director and CEO of APE, said: \u201cWith Bee Macau, the market finally gains a local choice in playing card manufacturing, opening the door to true greater diversity. As a Macau-based company, we are proud that Cartamundi has entrusted us with world-class technology and training, bringing global expertise to Macau.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cartamundi, which acquired the Bee brand in 2019, has more than 200 years of experience in card manufacturing. The launch follows a strategic cooperation agreement signed by the companies during the Macau International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) in March. The initiative was presented as part of Macau\u2019s efforts to promote green innovation, attract international investment and reinforce its position as a business bridge between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
