The Philippines.- DigiPlus Interactive Corp<\/strong> has shared its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. Net income was PHP2.8bn (US$50m)<\/strong> for the January-March period, down 33 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the company, the decrease was primarily due to the delinking of e-wallet in-app access<\/a> to licensed online gaming platforms, which impacted user activity and transaction volumes. This was compounded by more cautious consumer spending amid the global fuel crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenue for the period was down 25 per cent year-on-year to PHP17.2bn (US$307m), while EBITDA declined 42 per cent to PHP2.6bn (US$46m). On a sequential basis, revenue remained relatively stable compared to PHP17.3bn in the fourth quarter of 2025<\/a>, while net income increased 15 per cent quarter-on-quarter, supported by derivative gains related to DigiPlus\u2019 investment in convertible bonds issued by International Entertainment Corporation. EBITDA slipped 15 per cent sequentially mainly due to higher non-recurring manpower-related expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DigiPlus chairman Eusebio H. Tanco<\/strong> said: \u201cOur first quarter performance reflects the softness following the delinking of licensed gaming platforms from e-wallet access points, which has affected user activity and transaction flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNonetheless, our fundamentals remain intact, and we remain confident in the long-term growth trajectory of the business as we adapt our payments ecosystem, strengthen player engagement, and continue to lead with responsible, innovative digital entertainment<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the quarter, DigiPlus paid PHP5.4bn (US$96m) in taxes and regulatory fees<\/strong>. The company ended March with PHP20.5bn (US$366m) in cash and cash equivalents and debt of PHP745.8bn (US$13m), resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.02.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DigiPlus’s ArenaPlus sports platform recently secured a multi-year agreement with the National Basketball Association<\/strong>, becoming the league\u2019s first betting partner in the Philippines. The company has also announced an exclusive partnership with boxing icon Manny Pacquiao<\/a>, featuring co-branded gaming content and the integration of MannyPay.<\/p>\n\n\n
