Thailand.- Thai authorities have announced closer cooperation with Meta<\/a> to strengthen enforcement across digital platforms. The initiative follows a meeting between the Royal Thai Police\u2019s High-Tech Crime Division and representatives from the owner of Facebook and Instagram. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While online gambling remains the central focus, the new framework broadens the crackdown to include other types of cybercrime, particularly scam networks operating through social media. Police say illegal gambling platforms continue to be a major driver of online fraud, often overlapping with schemes such as fake investments and deceptive job offers. Under the expanded agreement, authorities will use improved data-sharing systems and analytical tools to identify suspicious activity more quickly and remove illegal content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between October 2025 and April 2026, Meta blocked 158,365 Facebook pages linked to online gambling at the request of Thai authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n
