During a conference call following the announcement of the group\u2019s first-quarter results, Bill Hornbuckle<\/strong>, chief executive and president of the parent, MGM Resorts International, said: \u201cWe continue to invest in our competitive advantages in premium mass to support future growth and the suite conversion and renovated premium gaming areas at MGM Cotai<\/strong> were recently completed ahead of the upcoming Golden Week holiday.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n He added: \u201cThe next capital projects will involve renovating the suite product in Macau if we want to ensure our offerings stay fresh and ahead of market growth. While we will continue with targeted capital spending, we believe our operating expenses are appropriately sized and scaled to match our growth profile and our margins are sustainable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n MGM China chief executive officer Kenneth Feng <\/strong>said: \u201cWe just opened like 40,000 square feet of like premium gaming space<\/strong> at Cotai area, we have about like 40 tables or 15 private rooms. This is also a new design, the construction of services there. I can see a lot of customers who are better off playing even right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n MGM China<\/strong> reported net revenue of US$1.1bn in the first quarter of 2026, up 9 per cent year-on-year, supported by stronger gaming volumes and a recovery in Macau\u2019s broader gaming market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casino revenue increased 9 per cent year-on-year to US$977m, while the main floor table games drop rose 10 per cent to US$3.97bn. The main floor table games win grew 18 per cent to US$1.08bn. Segment adjusted EBITDAR declined 4 per cent year-on-year to US$273m from US$286m, as higher operating expenses and a US$23m increase in intercompany branding license fees weighed on performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Adjusted EBITDA for MGM China increased 4 per cent year-on-year to HK$2.5bn (US$320m equivalent), although margins narrowed to 28 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By property, MGM Cotai posted revenue of HK$5.3bn (US$679m), up 10 per cent year-on-year, with adjusted EBITDA rising 11 per cent to HK$1.6bn (US$205m) and margins improving to 30.5 per cent. MGM Macau generated HK$3.4bn (US$436m) in revenue, up 9 per cent, but adjusted EBITDA fell to HK$832m (US$107m) from HK$903m (US$116m), reflecting a sharp drop in VIP hold to 0.6 per cent from 4.2 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\nMGM China Q1 results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
