Australia.- The Star Entertainment Group<\/strong> has confirmed the appointment of Don Pasquariello<\/strong> as non-executive director, effective April 30, after securing all required regulatory and ministerial approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company had initially announced Pasquariello\u2019s proposed appointment in November 2025<\/a>, subject to regulatory clearance. He is currently the chair of the Oliver Hume Property Group of Companies and an Advisory Board director of Villawood Properties Group. He is also a director of St Vincents Institute of Medical Research Limited and a director of Jesuit Education Australasia Limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPasquariello\u2019s expertise spans audit, business strategy and processes, corporate governance, risk management and regulatory compliance,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Star has been seeking to stabilise its corporate structure and rebuild confidence among regulators, investors, and stakeholders. CEO and Managing Director Bruce Mathieson Jr<\/strong> authorised the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest addition comes amid a series of governance updates at The Star. Throughout April, the company has made multiple board-level adjustments. Earlier this month, The Star appointed Grant Bowie<\/a> as a non-executive director, bringing extensive regional experience in integrated resort operations. The group also confirmed the addition of Brooke Lindsay as independent non-executive director<\/a>, reinforcing its focus on governance, compliance, and strategic oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this week, the Star Entertainment Group<\/strong> reported mixed results for the third quarter of its financial year<\/a>. <\/strong>Losses were reduced, but so was revenue. According to the report, group revenue for the period ended March 31 reached AU$266m (US$173m)<\/strong>, down 12 per cent quarter-on-quarter and flat compared to the prior corresponding period<\/a>. This was attributed to seasonal softness and lower gaming visitation, particularly in Sydney. The company posted an EBITDA loss of just AU$1m (US$720,000), an improvement from the AU$24m (US$15.6m) loss recorded a year earlier. The previous quarter had seen positive EBITDA of AU$6m (US$3.9m) due to a one-off revenue adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n
