Turkey.- Some 70 suspected have been jailed following a large-scale operation against alleged illegal betting networks. The raids, coordinated by the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office, were carried out across 92 locations in eight provinces, with a particular focus on the southeastern province of Gaziantep. The operation involved cybercrime and anti-smuggling units of the gendarmerie, alongside the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Interior Ministry, 81 suspects were initially detained on charges related to illegal betting and the formation of a criminal organisation. Following questioning, all were referred to court. Judicial authorities ordered 70 to be held in pre-trial detention, while the remaining 11 were released under judicial supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n
