Foreign visitor arrivals to the Philippines rose despite declines in numbers from South Korea and China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- The Philippine Department of Tourism<\/strong> has reported that the country received 1,760,436 foreign visitors<\/strong> between January and March 2026. That’s a 2.64 per cent year-on-year increase<\/strong> from 1,715,207 in the same period of 2025. Total arrivals, including overseas Filipinos, reached 1,886,527, up 2.59 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States <\/strong>remained the largest source market, with 393,137 visitors, accounting for 20.84 per cent of total arrivals. The number was up by 5.89 per cent year-on-year. South Korea<\/strong> ranked second with 385,569 visitors, though arrivals from the country declined by 10.17 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numbers from Japan rose 7.84 per cent to 144,509 and those from Canada and Australia by 16.29 per cent and 13.37 per cent, respectively. Visitors from Taiwan were up 26.26 per cent to 66,818. Meanwhile, Chinese arrivals dropped 19.77 per cent year-on-year to 46,553, reflecting ongoing softness from a traditionally important market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European arrivals were mixed but generally positive. UK arrivals rose 3.21 per cent to 66,371, while French and German arrivals grew 6.95 per cent and 1.98 per cent, respectively. Russia saw one of the strongest increases, climbing 35.09 per cent to 21,990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other notable gains included Indonesia (+29.72 per cent), Italy (+21.12 per cent), and Vietnam, up 41.66 per cent year-on-year. Arrivals from India fell 52.83 per cent to 10,306.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
