South Korea.- Korea Sports Leisure Co<\/strong> has launched a reward-based reporting system<\/strong> targeting illegal sports betting. It’s offering payouts of up to KRW200m (US$145,000) for verified cases under the National Sports Promotion Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is operated through the Illegal Sports Toto Reporting Centre<\/strong>, which accepts submissions related to operators, users and promoters of illegal gambling via its website and phone channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highest rewards will apply to reports identifying operators of illegal sports betting platforms, while match-fixing cases linked to Sports Toto events can receive up to KRW50m (US$33,600). Lower-tier violations, including promotion, brokerage, system design and use of illegal services, are eligible for rewards of up to KRW15m (US$10,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports on illegal betting websites require users to submit access information, including URLs and supporting evidence, following identity verification. Cases will be reviewed by the Korea Communications Commission, with smaller fixed rewards granted per verified report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system also allows users to report deposit accounts linked to illegal betting operations. Each confirmed account report is eligible for a KRW100,000 (US$67) payment, with no cap on the number of submissions. Rewards for cloned platforms may be limited to the first verified report.<\/p>\n\n\n
