India.- A growing civic movement is putting pressure on casinos in Goa. The expanding \u201cEnough is Enough\u201d<\/strong> movement, led by former judge Ferdino Rebello, is challenging the legality of offshore casinos operating on the Mandovi River, arguing that such operations may conflict with provisions under India\u2019s Gambling Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enough is Enough was originally focused on land conversion and environmental concerns. Speaking at the inauguration of the movement\u2019s office in Panaji, Rebello said a letter would be sent to chief minister Pramod Sawant<\/strong> to challenge the continued presence of offshore casinos. He said that if authorities fail to respond, the movement may encourage political mobilisation and support candidates aligned with public-interest causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goa has several floating casinos on the Mandovi River. While the sector plays a key role in tourism and state revenues, it has long faced public scrutiny over environmental impact and social concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
