India.- Pathapalya police have arrested 19 individuals and seized over INR900,000 (US$9,670) in a raid on an alleged illegal gambling operation at a tank bund area in Tholapalli village, Karnataka. A team led by Circle Inspector M. Srinivas and PSI Ganesh of the Chelur police station claim to have discovered 21 people participating in banned betting games, including the card game Andhar Bahar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officers said several people had travelled from the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. Two people fled the scene on foot. Officers took the remaining 19 into custody. They also seized 15 mobile phones and two two-wheelers.<\/p>\n\n\n
