South Korea.- The casino operator Grand Korea Leisure (GKL)<\/strong> saw March gaming revenue decline both monthly and yearly despite an increase in player spending. In a Thursday filing to the Korea Exchange<\/strong>, the company reported casino sales of KRW31.98bn (US$21.1m), a 16 per cent drop compared to February\u2019s KRW38.08bn (US$25.1m) and a drop of 22.8 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total customer wagers rose to KRW339.30bn (US$224m), up 18.8 per cent month-on-month and 13.5 per cent year-on-year. Table game revenue was KRW28.44bn (US$18.8m), down 18.2 per cent from the previous month and 26 compared to the same month last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GKL\u2019s casino sales for the first quarter reached KRW106.65bn (US$70.4m). That’s a 1.5 per cent decline compared to the same period in 2025. The aggregate drop for the January to March period increased by 12.6 per cent year-on-year to KRW931.03bn (US$614.8m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GKL operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization<\/strong>, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The company oversees three foreigner-only Seven Luck casinos<\/strong> in the jurisdiction, with two in Seoul<\/strong> and one in Busan<\/strong>. Last month, the company unveiled an ambitious plan<\/a> to generate casino revenue of KRW503.8bn (US$333.8m) by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n
