The Philippine Department of Justice has signed a data-sharing agreement with PAGCOR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- The Philippine Department of Justice (DOJ)<\/strong> has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to expand the list of government employees prohibited from entering casinos. It’s provided PAGCOR with the names of more than 56,000 personnel<\/strong>, including employees from the department and its attached agencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The names will be added to PAGCOR\u2019s National Database of Restricted Persons. Licensed casinos will have to prevent their entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida<\/strong> said the initiative reinforces ethical standards and ensures stricter implementation of rules that prohibit public officials and employees from gambling in casinos. The data-sharing arrangement is also expected to improve identification processes and close enforcement gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco <\/strong>welcomed the agreement, saying it formed part of broader efforts to strengthen responsible gaming and compliance measures. Authorities indicated that similar agreements may be reached with other government agencies. Tengco said PAGCOR voided PHP310m (US$5.5m) in winnings of bettors following a verification of their identities and qualifications to play in regulated gaming establishments, including Casino Filipino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
