The Philippine gaming regulator has honoured outstanding female leaders and veteran employees during its \u201cDAKILA: A Celebration of Fine Women\u201d event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has recognised women leaders and long-serving employees as part of its National Women\u2019s Month celebration<\/strong>. The recognition took place at the DAKILA: A Celebration of Fine Women<\/strong> event held at PAGCOR\u2019s Corporate Office in Pasay City on March 25. The ceremony placed a spotlight on women who have demonstrated leadership, influence and dedication both within and beyond the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, PAGCOR conferred the Dakilang Babaylan Award<\/strong> to four women: San Juan City Representative Ysabel Zamora-Jornada, Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Tre\u00f1as, Manila Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, and Carol Dominguez, President and CEO of John Clements Consultants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, three long-serving PAGCOR employees received the Dakilang Juana Award<\/strong>, honouring their professionalism and decades of service: Zenaida Geba\u00f1a of Casino Filipino Tagaytay with 40 years of service, Jocelyn Sales of Casino Filipino Bacolod with 39 years, and Elsa Carreon of Casino Filipino Malabon Grand with 37 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alejandro H. Tengco<\/strong>, PAGCOR chairman and CEO, said the awards reflect the enduring spirit of the Babaylan \u2013 pre-colonial Filipino women who were revered as leaders, healers and guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, we may no longer use the word Babaylan in everyday conversation, but we certainly recognise its undying spirit,\u201d Tengco said. \u201cAs we move forward, may we continue to support one another and nurture a workplace where everyone \u2013 women and men alike \u2013 can grow, lead, and succeed\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout March, PAGCOR held activities such as health and wellness webinars, Zumba sessions, a women\u2019s bazaar, an all-women bingo even, and a Lenten season pilgrimage.<\/p>\n\n\n
