Police said the venue was hosting a 24/7 e-sabong operation, with fights streamed online through a dedicated betting platform.

According to investigators, the site was running approximately 500 cockfights per day. Unlike standard cockfighting events, which can last at least 30 minutes and involve elimination rounds, the illegal setup operated continuously driven by online betting demand.

Some 136 of those arrested were identified as bettors and were released after providing statements, while 28 others remain in custody and are set to face charges under anti-gambling laws and the Cybercrime Prevention Act. Authorities seized 48 desktop computers, cameras, 24 live roosters, cockfighting gaffs, betting slips and cash. Investigators are seeking a cyber warrant to access equipment.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the raid underscores how illegal e-sabong networks continue to operate covertly, often disguising their activities behind legitimate venues. “We are intensifying intelligence-driven operations nationwide. This crackdown will continue until these illegal gambling hubs are completely dismantled,” he said.

   See also:

See also: Philippine police arrest four over alleged illegal online gambling hub in Cebu

Philippine authorities, led by the CIDG, conducted a significant raid on an illegal 24/7 e-sabong operation in Vitas, Tondo, resulting in 174 arrests and the seizure of substantial operational equipment.
