GCash said it has implemented several safeguards to maintain the integrity of its services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- Philippines-based finance app GCash has reported that it has so far suspended over 3,200 merchants allegedly linked to illegal online gambling in the country. In a LinkedIn post, the company said the move was carried out with the support of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Centre (CICC) and the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enforcement began in August 2025, when the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ordered all banks and major e-wallets, including GCash and Maya, to block in-app access to online gambling platforms. GCash said it has since implemented several safeguards to maintain the integrity of its services, including monitoring for unauthorised merchant activity, immediately suspending accounts linked to fraudulent operations and reporting suspicious transactions to the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and the CICC.<\/p>\n\n\n
