{"id":777039325,"date":"2026-03-18T08:37:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T11:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=777039325"},"modified":"2026-04-21T13:23:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T16:23:56","slug":"kazakhstan-approves-new-casino-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kazakhstan-approves-new-casino-zones","title":{"rendered":"Kazakhstan approves new casino zones"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The new legislation on Kazakh casino zones restricts access to foreign nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Kazakhstan.- The government of Kazakhstan has approved the creation of new <strong>gambling zones <\/strong>where developers may apply to open casinos targeting <strong>international visitors. <\/strong>According to the country&#8217;s Qazinform News Agency, amendments signed off by <strong>President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev<\/strong> would allow the establishment of land-based casinos in <strong>four regions<\/strong> of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The changes update the Law On Gambling Business, designating the following new areas where casinos and other gambling facilities may operate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mangistau region, along the Caspian Sea coast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Panfilov district and Lake Alakol in the Zhetysu region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talgar district in the Almaty region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Markakol and Zaisan districts in East Kazakhstan region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation prohibits gambling establishments from being located in <strong>protected natural reserves<\/strong>, on land of historical or cultural importance, or in areas reserved for defense and national security. Access rules are also clarified in the new amendments, restricting entry to <strong>foreign nationals<\/strong>, stateless persons, and individuals connected to gambling operations in an official capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Kazakhstan permits land-based casinos in only two zones: the city of <strong>Konaev <\/strong>in the Almaty region and the <strong>Shchuchinsk-Borovoye<\/strong> resort area in Akmola region.
