Australia.- The Star Entertainment Group<\/strong> has named Dave Whimpey <\/strong>as chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer of The Star Brisbane<\/strong>. The appointment, awaiting regulatory approval, forms part of a wider leadership overhaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whimpey began his career at Jupiter\u2019s Casino<\/strong>. He has held senior leadership roles at KPMG, Tabcorp, and Coles<\/strong> and was most recently the chief executive officer of SurfLife Saving Queensland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a LinkedIn<\/strong> post announcing his appointment on Monday, The Star said Whimpey joins the property \u201cat a pivotal time\u201d as the business enters a new phase following the opening of the Queen\u2019s Wharf Brisbane<\/strong> precinct. Whimpey will oversee day-to-day operations at The Star Brisbane and aim to strengthen engagement with regulators, stakeholders and the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019m excited to be joining The Star at such a pivotal time as the business embarks on a new era focused on rebuilding, revitalisation, and restoring confidence. There is a significant opportunity ahead, and I\u2019m committed to working closely with the refreshed board, management, and our professional team members to contribute positively to the city\u2019s future and the communities we are part of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
