That\u2019s an increase of 4.5 per cent in year-on-year terms, but 8.9 per cent down from <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-rises-24-year-over-year-in-january\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-rises-24-year-over-year-in-january\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January\u2019s GGR<\/a>, which stood at MOP22.63bn (US$2.79bn), the highest January total since 2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>February was expected to see a better performance due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-surpasses-1-5-million-visitors-during-chinese-new-year-holiday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chinese New Year holiday<\/a>. The Public Security Police Force (PSP) reported that 1.55 million visitors entered Macau over the nine-day Chinese New Year break, which started on February 15 and ended on February 23. <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/jp-morgan-trims-february-macau-ggr-forecast-over-mixed-lunar-new-year-performance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley<\/a> analysts said Chinese New Year gaming in Macau started slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the two months of 2026 was <strong>MOP43.26bn (US$5.38bn)<\/strong>, up 13.9 per cent year-on-year. However, the figure remains 14 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (US$6.26bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau\u2019s GGR for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-reaches-us30-9bn-in-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 was&nbsp;MOP247.40bn (US$30.9bn)<\/a>. That\u2019s a rise of 9.1 per cent year-on-year and surpassed the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-government-lowers-ggr-forecast-for-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government forecast<\/a>&nbsp;of MOP228bn. The figure represented 84.6 per cent of the 2019 total of MOP292.46bn (US$36.5 billion) before the Covid-19 pandemic.
