Malaysia.- Sri Aman police<\/strong> arrested four individuals in raids conducted last week targeting illegal gambling in the jurisdiction. According to Supt Dennis Bunyam<\/strong>, Sri Aman police chief, law enforcement conducted two raids on February 9<\/strong>, followed by additional operations on February 10 and 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the raids, authorities reportedly confiscated cash, multiple mobile phones, and equipment suspected of being used for illegal online gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dennis stated that the police would continue to take strict action against anyone involved in illegal gambling and urged members of the public to report relevant information to help curb such activities. Meanwhile, the four suspects, two men and two women, aged 25 to 60<\/strong>, will be charged under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953<\/strong> and other relevant laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development comes as the Malaysian government prepares to introduce a bill<\/a> to tackle illegal gambling, as confirmed by Deputy  Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof<\/strong> in a recent statement.<\/p>\n\n\n
