India.- Police in Chandkheda<\/strong>, in the northwestern part of Ahmedabad, Gujarat,<\/strong> arrested a 37-year-old man<\/strong> on Saturday night for allegedly placing online bets during the ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup 2026<\/strong> clash between South Africa and New Zealand<\/strong>. According to the police, the suspect was detained by an anti-betting patrol at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera<\/strong> after receiving a tip-off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suresh Sencha<\/strong>, a resident of Pali district in Rajasthan<\/strong>, was allegedly found placing live online bets on the match using his mobile phone. Authorities seized his phone and escorted him out of the stand for questioning in the presence of panch witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sencha faces charges of violating the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025<\/strong>, which criminalises participating in unauthorised online betting and gambling activities. If found guilty, he could be subject to imprisonment, fines, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n
