Macau.- The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has released figures indicating a 14.2 per cent year-on-year increase in non-gaming spending by Macau visitors to MOP21.87bn (US$2.73bn) in the fourth quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increase was largely fueled by an 85.9 per cent rise in spending by same-day visitors to MOP5.34bn (US$667m), while overnight visitor expenditure grew 1.6 per cent to MOP16.54bn (US$2.06bn). MICE attendees led per-visitor spending during the quarter, averaging MOP4,821 (US$602) each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-gaming expenditure per visitor was MOP2,104 (US$263), down 1 per cent from a year earlier but up 7.9 per cent from the previous quarter. Spending was dominated by shopping at 45.4 per cent, followed by accommodation at 25 per cent and food and beverages at 20.6 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total non-gaming visitor expenditure in Macau for 2025 rose 6.3 per cent year-on-year to MOP80.12bn (US$10.0bn), with overnight visitors contributing MOP63.31bn (US$7.9bn), up 1.6 per cent, and same-day visitors MOP16.81bn (US$2.1bn), up 28.9 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per-visitor non-gaming spending for the year declined 7.3 per cent to MOP2,000 (US$250). Spending per visitor also fell across major markets, with Chinese mainland visitors at MOP2,245 (down 10.3 per cent), Hong Kong visitors at MOP988 (down 2.1 per cent), and international visitors at MOP2,064 (down 3.5 per cent). However, per-capita spending by visitors from Taiwan rose 6.7 per cent to MOP2,083 (US$260).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total visitor arrivals in 2025 reached 40.07m, a 14.7 per cent increase year-on-year. MICE attendees led all visitor segments in per-capita spending for the year, averaging MOP4,572 (US$571) each.<\/p>\n\n\n
