The rise was due to the 567 cases of illegal money exchange for gambling. Some 867 people were arrested, and the PJ seized MOP97m (US$12m) in cash and gaming chips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were&nbsp;also <strong>192 cases involving illegal gambling loans<\/strong>, down 23.8 per cent in year-on-year terms, and some 28 cases of related unlawful detentions, down 40.4 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PJ also reported that the<strong> cases of telephone fraud<\/strong> were down 35 per cent year-on-year.
