The property has been closed since 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- After nearly a decade of closure, the former New Century Hotel and Greek Mythology Casino<\/strong> in Macau is set to be redeveloped into a split hotel property with both budget and luxury accommodation. Two proposals, which would introduce low-cost and five-star<\/strong> hotel projects on the site, are being assessed by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO)<\/strong>, according to Portuguese-language broadcaster TDM Canal Macau<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redevelopment is expected to breathe new life into the property, which has been closed since 2016<\/strong> due to a dispute between Suncity<\/strong> and table games operator AMAX<\/strong> Holdings<\/strong>, now Century Entertainment<\/strong>. AMAX accused the junket operator of attempting to seize control of the property through its subsidiary Victory Success<\/strong>. Macau courts ruled in favour of AMAX\u2019s Macau Empresa Hoteleira unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although local reports in 2024<\/strong> suggested that the land might revert to government control, the project is now being driven by Victory Success, which shares a fiscal address with the Yoho Group. The company reportedly secured the property licence in 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike previous operations at Greek Mythology under SJM<\/strong>, the property will no longer feature a casino. Macau’s the new gaming law phased out satellite casinos by the end of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n
