That&#8217;s according to data released by the <strong>Ministry of Finance<\/strong> on <strong>Thursday, January 29<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welfare lottery ticket sales were <strong>208.58bn yuan<\/strong> (US$29.8bn), a <strong>0.3 per cent rise<\/strong> from 2024, while sports-related lottery ticket sales were <strong>419.39bn yuan<\/strong> (US$60.2bn), <strong>up 0.9 per cent<\/strong>. Combined <strong>December <\/strong>sales were <strong>52.35bn yuan<\/strong> (US$7.52bn, <strong>down 9.1 per cent<\/strong> compared with December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funds generated from lottery ticket sales in China are distributed under rules to cover administrative expenses, public welfare projects and prize funds.
