That&#8217;s a rise of 4.7 per cent year-on-year in real terms and equivalent to 89.6 per cent of the city\u2019s pre-pandemic output in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Momentum accelerated in the fourth quarter, when GDP climbed 7.6 per cent year-on-year to MOP115.39bn (US$12bn), representing 94.1 per cent of the economic output recorded in the same period of 2019. The performance was boosted by a rise in visitor arrivals aided by large-scale events and government initiatives aimed at revitalising tourism flows into the casino hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports of services, a category that includes gaming and tourism revenues, <strong>increased by 9.8 per cent in the fourth quarter<\/strong>, fuelled by a 15.4 per cent rise in visitor numbers. The figures underline the continued role of Macau\u2019s gaming sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domestic demand showed more modest growth. Government final consumption expenditure rose by 1.3 per cent, while private consumption increased by 1.1 per cent.
