South Korea.- Kangwon Land Inc<\/strong>, operator of the only casino serving South Korean customers, has reported fourth-quarter sales of KRW365.45bn <\/strong>(US$256.0m), up<\/strong> 6 per cent<\/strong> from a year earlier. In a filing to the Korea Exchange<\/strong> on Wednesday<\/strong>, the operator noted that gaming revenue made up most of its Q4 2025 sales at KRW325.6bn<\/strong> (US$228.0m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) from mass tables reached KRW161.0bn<\/strong> (US$112.7m), an 8.6 per cent year-on-year increase. GGR from the Membership Club<\/strong>, the casino\u2019s elite player segment, totalled KRW58.0bn<\/strong> (US$40.6m), up 7.2 per cent<\/strong> compared with the same quarter in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slot machine GGR for the three months to December 31 rose 5.6 per cent year-on-year to KRW138.3bn (US$96.9m). Fourth-quarter operating income stood at just under KRW29.70bn (US$20.8m), down 30.5 per cent year-on-year. Net income attributable to the parent company\u2019s shareholders fell 41.2 per cent year-on-year to nearly KRW66.02bn<\/strong> (US$46.3m), and the net-profit margin declined by 11.3 points<\/strong> to 18.1 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The casino recorded 617,907 visitors in Q4<\/strong>, a 7.3 per cent year-on-year gain but a 6.5 per cent decline from the previous quarter. Some 8,055 were from<\/strong> abroad<\/strong>, a 12.7 per cent year-on-year increase and a 13.4 per cent rise quarter-on-quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an earlier filing, Kangwon Land reported that total sales for 2025 reached almost KRW1.48tn<\/strong> (US$1.03bn), a 3.5 per cent increase from a year earlier. The company plans to invest KRW126.4bn<\/strong> (US$88.0m) in 2026 for casino VIP floor renovations, construction of a second casino, resort room upgrades, and replacement of gaming equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n
