More than US$54,000 seized as authorities stepped up enforcement under the Gambling Control Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Singapore.- Singapore authorities have arrested six individuals following a nationwide enforcement operation targeting illegal remote gambling activities, according to a statement from the Singapore Police Force (SPF). The action resulted in the seizure of more than SDP70,000 (US$54,000) in cash, along with electronic devices and gambling-related paraphernalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspects, five men and one woman aged between 32 and 65, were detained during simultaneous raids<\/strong> at multiple locations, including Boon Lay Avenue, Tengah Drive, Pandan Gardens, Bukit Batok West Avenue 8, and Jurong West Street 91 and 93. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence Department and Special Operations Command took part in the coordinated operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminary investigations indicate that the group was involved in illegal horse betting and lottery betting activities conducted through unlawful remote gambling operations. The individuals are currently being investigated for offences under Singapore\u2019s Gambling Control Act 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SPF said it will continue to take firm action against illegal gambling activities<\/strong> and those who support such operations, including facilitators and criminal enablers. Authorities reiterated that enforcement efforts form part of Singapore\u2019s broader regulatory approach to maintaining a tightly controlled gambling environment, which combines strict licensing, robust enforcement and consumer protection measures.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t
