The data indicate a year-on-year decrease in deposits and a shift in payment methods to QR code payments and crypto.

The PPATK reported that QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) was the main channel for online gambling deposits in 2025. Deposits that were previously processed mainly through bank transfers and e-wallets shifted to QRIS-based payments, reflecting broader adoption of the system.

According to PPATK, deposits made via QRIS were frequently followed by the conversion of funds into cryptocurrency shortly after the initial transaction. It said online gambling operators are increasingly separating deposit and withdrawal mechanisms, with deposits processed through QRIS and withdrawals increasingly handled through crypto-based channels.

   See also:

See also: Indonesia reports sharp fall in online gambling transactions in Q3

Data from Indonesia’s financial intelligence unit shows a year-on-year decline in online gambling deposits and a shift toward QR code payments and crypto transactions.

Indonesia's financial intelligence unit, PPATK, reports a significant year-on-year decline in online gambling deposits, falling from US$3.3bn in 2024 to US$2.3bn in 2025.
