Macau is on track to receive 39 million visitors in 2025, according to the Macau Government Tourism Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes<\/strong>, the director of Macau\u2019s Government Tourism Office (MGTO), has announced that Macau has received 36.5 million visitors<\/strong> in the January-November period, already beating last year\u2019s full\u2011year tally of 34.93 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking in a group interview at the World Tourism Economy Forum 2025 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, this week, she said arrivals are still projected to reach approximately 39 million by the end of the year<\/a>, some 400,000 short of the 2019 record. She said overseas visitors are expected to reach about 80 per cent of pre\u2011pandemic levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senna Fernandes said she remains confident about attracting more international visitors<\/a>, noting deeper cooperation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. She added that closer ties with mainland Chinese provinces and cities are helping to diversify source markets. She also said China\u2019s visa-free transit policy was creating new opportunities, making it easier for travellers to include Macau in multi-stop itineraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fernandes said the SAR government plans to open tourism and trade offices in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia next year as hubs to support tourism promotion and business links. It also intends to expand online and offline marketing, launch new tourism products and upgrade traditional offerings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
