According to Macao Daily, the group threatened to expose ten scammers&#8217; illegal conduct to casinos or to the other gamblers they had targeted unless they paid hush money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspects, seven men and six women between 52 and 82, have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office on charges of criminal association and extortion. Six are Macau residents, while six are Hong Kong residents and one woman is from mainland China.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The alleged scammers have been referred to prosecutors in a separate case. According to police, they paid a combined HK$800,000 (US$102.847) out of fear that their activity would be revealed.
