The other most cited sectors include personal care (367), healthcare (332), food and beverage (211), and education (71).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ASCI report, digital media platforms accounted for 97 per cent of complaints, with Meta leading the tally at 78.9 per cent followed by third-party websites at 13.7 per cent, Google at 4.6 per cent, and property portals at 3 per cent. Traditional media, such as television and print, were responsible for less than 3 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the period, ASCI investigated 1,173 influencer ads and found that 98 per cent required modification. Almost 59 per cent of the ads promoted products that are considered illegal, while around 76 per cent of India&#8217;s top digital influencers failed to comply with disclosure norms set by ASCI and the Central Consumer Protection Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manisha Kapoor, CEO and secretary general of ASCI, said: &#8220;The widespread exposure to betting ads despite the ban, as well as the disappointing standards set by top influencers, are some challenges that have come to the fore in our recent work. Consumer trust can be fragile in the digital age, and such practices create problems for the industry at large.
